Background
La Trobe University, through their Net Zero program, committed to transform their campuses and become carbon neutral by 2029. Upgrading all lighting to energy efficient LEDs is a major contributor to La Trobe achieving this goal.
The project
Ozwide were engaged by Specialist Lighting Solutions (SLS) to provide the installation and project management services in this diverse and complex multi-staged rollout. The University buildings had to remain open and functioning throughout the works, as well as navigating the developing impacts on works from COVID restrictions.
Results
Over 37,000 fittings were upgraded to over 65 buildings throughout the project. The project was completed over 2 years, which was ahead of time and under budget. Through fantastic products and design (SLS), and a great communication and trust from the client (La Trobe), the end result was a successful and safe handover of a turnkey solution to La Trobe’s Net Zero goal.
